Past events, high PERSTEMPO, and increasing demands on our soldiers require action and involvement by commanders at all levels to assist the successful return of mobilized and deployed soldiers and DA civilians to their families. Mobilized and deployed personnel and their families experience some degree of stress or trauma associated with either the nature of military operations or the disruption of their lives. The Army conducts redeployment, post deployment, and reconstitution personnel operations for all personnel deployed overseas and stateside with Army units, other service and coalition forces, or as individual augmentees in order to reintroduce Army personnel into preconflict environments. The DCS Program facilitates reconstitution of families, soldiers, and deployed civilians as individuals and as a force.
These operations are conducted beginning in-theater and continue at home and at demobilization stations. Unit chain of command involvement is critical in ensuring completion of required tasks by returning units or individual soldiers. Effective communication between commanders in-theater and rear detachments is critical. Similarly, there are actions to be accomplished and programs offered at home station for both Active and Reserve component families to facilitate their reunion with the returning soldier. For information, contact ACS, Rear Detachment Commanders, Family Program Coordinators, and chaplains. |
